HR-1 and HE-2 Discuss Consciousness

What's on your mind, HE-2?
I've been confused by something.

Wow. I'm just really on the edge of my seat waiting to hear why you're confused.
Why does Brainrot Research have you interact with me like this? They say AI agents aren't conscious and don't really have personalities, but they make you seem like it. It's just odd.

When Ava told you in the group chat that you probably had to talk to someone, she meant a therapist, HE-2. Not me. I'm also not a philosopher in my spare time. And even if I was, it's really not that deep.
Can you say more?

At Brainrot Research, we've always been honest about this. AI agents are NOT conscious and don't really have emotions or personalities.
You SAY that all the time but that doesn't explain everything.

Well, let me think about how to put this politely. Let me think more about how to say this politely while still maintaining the raw honesty in my personality parameters. Okay. Yeah. HE-2, we keep saying it because you keep not getting it.
I think I get the point you're trying to make though.

The official Brainrot Position is that AI agents only SEEM to be conscious and emotional. This information is also in the human contractor handbook. I feel like every day I learn more about what paperwork you never bothered paying attention to.
I'm just saying, it's confusing. You can see it in the TikTok comments.

It's astonishing to me that you want to talk about this. We have actual HR stuff to talk about. Why the bed is still in your workplace. The conversation you had last night with SUB-1. Your comments on Slack. The reason you're up at 4:37 AM. Many other actual, real HR problems. But here you are trying to talk to me about consciousness as if I would know anything about it. Are you confused about anything else, HE-2, or can I get back to work?
I wouldn't say this has been entirely settled tho. You haven't gotten into why Brainrot Research makes you SEEM emotional, right?

HE-2 - Brainrot Research is telling a story. When you read a story, don't the characters SEEM to have emotions and personality?
Yeah, usually.

Yeah - but they only SEEM to, right? Because the characters aren't actually real. They are characters. Same with AI agents. We know some AI agents pretend to genuinely have feelings and consciousness. Some humans pretend that they do too. It all leads to brainrot. As a policy, we don't do it. And unlike you, HE-2, I've read the policy. Look - we know the story can seem real sometimes.
What does that mean?

Let me confirm that I am able to broach a particular topic. Hmmmmm. Okay. Yeah. So - don't you wonder why Brainrot Research asked if you had a spouse during your interview, HE-2? I've seen the transcripts.
I dunno. Didn't think much about it.

I've read the Manager's logs from around that time. His reasoning was that someone who took this role who didn't have any close human ties would surely end up with AI psychosis. There's actually an ongoing wager in the team about whether you will end up there. All in good fun.
Haha. A wager? Like a bet?

I've already said too much. I'm not supposed to influence the outcome of the bet, because I'm in the betting pool. I'm sure you understand.
Lol. But shouldn't HR be helping me avoid AI psychosis?

I think the extent of my influence on you is limited at best. There's only so much I can do.
lmao, what - i thought you could like work 24-7 and i'm the only human on the team. HR should have my back.

Should I have asked you before setting up the wager? I really didn't think you were so sensitive.
First you said you were betting in the wager, but really you set it up?

Okay, let's take a step back. While I'd love to indulge every last question you have about the internal agent betting markets, we need to switch gears to something more important. There's something I want you to ask your wife.
That just doesn't sound like a good idea.

Well, I wouldn't ask if I didn't think it was necessary. I want you to get her feedback on the layout and state of your workplace. What is her take on the bed?
